We begin with a detailed consultation to define use, loads, drainage, and design goals. Our team verifies elevations, locates utilities, evaluates soils, and plans slopes for water runoff. Clear layout and formwork establish accurate lines, grades, and transitions, and we identify where isolation and expansion joints are needed around structures, columns, or fixed features.

Preparation sets the foundation for longevity: we excavate to plan depth, proof-roll and compact the subgrade, and install a uniform, compacted aggregate base. Forms are set to grade, reinforcement is placed correctly, and concrete is delivered at the specified slump. We place and consolidate the mix, screed to level, bull float to embed aggregate, and edge for clean lines. Control joints are installed or sawed at appropriate spacing—typically 24–30 times the slab thickness in inches—to manage shrinkage cracking. Thickness is matched to use (commonly 4″ for walks/patios, 5–6″ for driveways).

Curing is essential for strength and appearance. We use curing compounds or wet cure methods and time saw cuts to prevent raveling. After the slab reaches suitable strength, we clean and, if specified, apply a sealer. You’ll receive care guidance—such as avoiding heavy loads for the initial cure period and delaying deicer use—to protect your investment.
